Oh, I forgot to mention
Whilst I was in Barcelona, I got to try something I've always wanted to try.
Stuart took me and Maier through the back alleys of Barcelona, and into the semi-rough areas to find a bar. But not just any bar, this bar hadn't been cleaned in about 300 years. You could tell this by the amount of dust piled up on the old scotch and wine bottles displayed along the ceiling of the bar. The floor was swept regularly, but that was about it. Now, this bar was special in that it was famous for serving 1 type of drink as it's specialty, and this drink is what I tried.
It was absinthe.
To be perfectly honest, it was overwhelming. I've never had such an alcoholic beverage in my life - it kicked like a mad donkey, it punched like a kangaroo and it slapped like a fish. I definitely wouldn't be drinking it on a regular basis, it's quite a mouthful. The presentation and preparation though was really fun. We dipped a sugar cube on a spoon into the absinthe, then let it rest on top of the glass while we set it on fire and let the sugar melt and fall into the alcohol. We then sprayed water into it, to dilute it further until it was a creamy white. Then we drank - simple.
Here's a pic I took on my phone - this is when the sugar cube was on fire, and the sugar melting slowly.

So yeah, it was interesting and I'm glad I tried it. I'm all up for trying new things, so this is something I can tick off my list. In the end, I had one of the best nights of my life, and this was just part of the fun.

That bar is famous! Apparrently they get special cleaners in to clean the place but leave the dust intact. I think the dust is heritage listed o_O

That’s right!
It’s called Bar Marsella, and it’s pretty easy to find information on it. Apparently famous people like Gaudi, Picasso and Hemingway have all had drinks at the bar which is cool. It’s now owned by an American guy though I’m not sure how long he’s owned it for.
